WEEK 1 - DAY 2

Anchored by His Word

VERSE

Psalm 1:1–3
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers.

THOUGHT

The psalmist paints the picture of a tree planted by streams of water, bearing fruit in every season, its leaves never withering. That kind of life comes from delighting in God’s Word and meditating on it day and night.

When we are anchored in Scripture, we are not easily swayed by fear, temptation, or the pressures of the world. God’s Word becomes the deep well we draw from for wisdom, comfort, and direction. It feeds our faith, strengthens our character, and renews our minds.

This is more than reading a few verses for some quick encouragement. It is allowing the Word to search us, confront us, and shape us. The more time we spend in Scripture, the more our hearts begin to beat in rhythm with God’s heart.

REFLECT

Do I approach Scripture as a source of life or as an occasional resource?
What is one truth from God’s Word that I need to meditate on today?

PRAYER

Father, plant me deep in Your Word. Let my life be nourished and strengthened by Your truth so that I can bear fruit in every season.
